Johnson, Powers and Driscoll named to U.S. Worlds Team (press release)
After a season of impressive results by all three members of the Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld.com team, Tim Johnson, Jeremy Powers and Jamey Driscoll have each been selected to represent the United States of America at the UCI Cyclocross World Championships in Tabor, Czech Republic, on January 31.
Johnson earned an automatic nomination to the U.S. team following his victory in the USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships on December 13, while Powers and Driscoll both earned discretionary nominations following impressive seasons both domestically and abroad. Johnson, Powers and Driscoll will join Jonathan Page (Planet Bike) and Ryan Trebon (Kona) on possibly the strongest team to represent the United States in recent memory.
Team Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld.com members would like to celebrate their long and successful season with the fans who supported them from September through January and invite you to a post-World Championships event. Festivities will begin at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, February 2, only hours after the team steps off the plane from the Czech Republic. The celebration will be emceed by Richard Fries, fresh off his announcing debut at the Cyclocross World Championships, and hosted by Cyclocrossworld.com and Pinnacle Bikes in Beverly, Massachusetts. Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
