My Magic 8-Ball never lets me down during the Giro

I love it when a plan comes together. Using my cycling intuition and my trusty Magic 8-Ball I picked Sky’s Bradley Wiggins as the winner of the prologue in the Giro d’ Italia.

To be perfectly honest I had to burn through several names before the Magic 8-Ball settled on Wiggo. My first selection/guess was Richie Porte who had recently won the time trial at the Tour de Romandie. Porte had a lot of buzz behind him and I thought for sure the 8-Ball would pick up on that vibe. No luck. When I shook it the answer revealed was, “Cannot predict now.” Perhaps the Magic 8-Ball is foreshadowing stage 16′s race of truth? Naturally I then asked, “Will David Millar win the prologue?”
“Concentrate and ask again,” came the ambiguous answer. I was confused at this point – it had been so clear with Porte. So to help improve my concentration I cracked open another beer and shook the black ball again.

“Reply hazy, try again.”
Was the Ball messing with me!? Millar has a strong pedigree against the clock and he was primed to take this stage. I was starting to lose faith in the Ball as well as run low on beer, so I went with my other gold star favorite – Wiggins, hoping that the Magic 8-Ball would bite and I could wrap this project up.
