If you train, you probably have pain

You might have noticed in the sidebar an ad for Trigger Point massage products. I’ve been suffering with lower back problems for well over six months. It’s the typical scenario: sitting in a chair, dragging luggage through an airport, traveling and being bent over in a road cycling position. All of these factors add up [...]
It’s winter in the South

Since my move to Greenville, South Carolina I have been enjoying the nice weather that the Greenville PR spin machine had been promising me. However that all changed today. And although the sun was out, the temperature dipped into the low 50′s. I rode over to the Hincapie HQ to do my usual ride with [...]
Stick a fork in me, I’m done!

At the top and contemplating life’s mysteries My legs are smoked from today’s training. To get you up to speed, I’m still training for L’ Etape, a 165k ride which includes the Tourmalet and the Hautacam (stage 10 of this year’s Tour). Once it was all said and done I rode for four hours for [...]
Another car over the side!

WTF! Almost to Baldy Village and there’s another car over the side.
On the way to Baldy

Secret training

I’m out training on Mom Day with decline editor Mark Jordan for top secret training up Glendora Mtn. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.
At the CBR race

Lotts shaking his money maker to Britney Spears. Words of wisdom from Lotts, “I’m here to kick ass and chew gum and I’m all outta gum!” CBR dominates the local scene.
Trust me, I know what I’m doing

When I returned from the Tour de Georgia I discovered that I was invited to participate in this year’s Etape du Tour. This is a mass start ride that covers stage 10 of this year’sTour de France. That means 165k which “scales the famed Tourmalet and finishes atop Hautacam. The L’Étape is a no-nonsense ride/race [...]
Happy Paris-Roubaix Day!

The infamous Fullerton Loop Paris-Roubaix has always been my favorite one-day race. It’s the combination of a strong rider, with a bit of good luck, that always wins this race. That said, riders have come out of the woodwork and won in the past like Knaven and Guesdon. So in honor of Roubaix, Banning’s Bikes [...]
This is how my team unwinds

I’m flying the flag for Surf City Cyclery this year (no I didn’t turn pro). We just finished the Cat 3 race and now we’re unwinding with a cool Chimay Belgium Ale in honor of Flanders.
